Storm Makes It Lightning 1, Tree 0

Have you ever seen lightning hit a tree? We had a tree about 20 feet from our house out back. I was hearing the rain slam against the windows, and the thunder and lightning was pretty bad. It was a pretty bad storm, and my family was getting frightened. We ended up having to call a company that does Long Island tree removal after the storm.

I looked out the back window facing the back yard and was watching the rain and flashing lightning. While I was watching, a blinding light flashed in front of my eyes. I either felt or imagined a sense of static electricity in the air as it was happening. I saw afterimages of the lighting strike superimposed over an image of the back yard. Pricing Info or Quote for Jewish Memorial

My grandfather, who was Jewish, just passed away earlier this morning. It is a sad day, to be sure, but at the same time, it was a long time coming, and so I hope that he will be at peace now. He was in poor health for years, although not truly suffering during most of that time, and also very old. I would like to honor his memory and I am looking into Jewish memorials in NJ and how much it would cost to erect one for his grave. I had not really thought about this much before he passed away, but I guess the idea came to me a few hours ago, and now I want to look into it some more.

My grandfather was a very Jewish person, and he actually barely escaped occupation by the Germans in the Second World War. But I never was very Jewish myself. (more…)
